My paintings are taken from my sketches of nature. I work in a free-flowing and spontaneous method to obtain an expressive and imaginative landscape.  The sketches are a starting point. Changes occur when I use the charcoal to make the drawings on the canvas and changes happen with the original washes.  Once I start the painting , then what remains of the original drawing and wash is open to the spontaneous nature of the painting process.

Beginning in February 2011 I decided to explore  abstract painting,  feeling that this  area might be better suited for my method of painting. I continue to play around here, to see where it will take me.
